Spring smoothie bowl

This spring smoothie bowl is fruity and refreshing with pineapple, grapefruit, blood orange, and chia seeds and spinach to add fibre and protein.

Serves 2


  • ½ cup pineapple, peeled and chopped
  • 1 grapefruit, peeled
  • 1 blood orange, peeled
  • 1 cup spinach
  • ½ avocado, peeled and pitted
  • 2 tbsp protein powder
  • 6 ice cubes
  • 2 tbsp chia seeds
  • ¼ cup almonds, chopped
  • ¼ cup coconut flakes


  1. Cut the grapefruit and orange in half, and cut into slices.
  2. Place the orange, the grapefruit and the pineapple in a blender along with spinach, avocado, ice, protein powder and a dash of water. Blend until smooth.
  3. Pour the smoothie into a bowl and top with the chia seeds, almonds and coconut flakes and fruits of your choice.
