Raw chocolate covered caramels

For all the sweet tooths out there, this is a deliciously healthy sweet treat.

Serves 5


  • 5 medjool dates, pitted and soaked in water
  • 1 tsp vanilla essence
  • Pinch sea salt
  • 1 tsp pure maple syrup
  • 2 tbsp cacao powder
  • ½ cup virgin coconut oil


  1. In a food processer, blend the dates, vanilla, sea salt and maple until smooth. Transfer to a bowl, cover and refrigerate for a few hours.
  2. Remove from the fridge and roll into 1-2 tbsp worth of mixture at a time into balls.
  3. Melt the coconut oil and mix through the cacao powder.
  4. Dip each date ball into the cacao mixture to coat, and transfer to a plate.
  5. Place in the freezer to set the chocolate and enjoy.
