Quick bone broth for beginners

If you’re sick, drinking bone broth is an easy way to get extra nutrients in. You can also add it to soups for extra flavour.

Ingredients

  • 16 cups of filtered water
  • 1/3 cups apple cider vinegar
  • Sea salt to taste
  • 1 full head of fresh organic garlic
  • 1 kilo of bones (whole chicken carcass, beef, turkey necks – any bones you have)

Method

  1. Place all the ingredients into a large pot and bring to the boil.  Reduce to a low setting and allow to barely even simmer for 24-36 hrs.
  2. Turn off heat and allow to cool.
  3. Strain the stock and divide into glass jars to freeze for whenever you need a soup stock, or to drink on its own. Stock keeps well in the fridge for 48-72 hrs.

TIP: You can add other ingredients like onion, celery, herbs and garlic for extra flavour.
