Coleslaw supreme

This coleslaw supreme recipe is a nice twist on traditional coleslaw. Store bough coleslaw contains added sweeteners and preservatives. This one uses fresh, wholefood ingredients and is loaded with antioxidants that keep our cells healthy.

  • 2 cups cabbage, finely shredded (Savoy or Chinese)
  • 1 cup red cabbage, finely shredded
  • 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup carrot, grated or fine julienne strips
  • 1 red capsicum, seeded and thinly sliced
  • ½ cup parsley, roughly chopped
  • 1 lemon, juiced
  • Sea salt and black pepper to taste


  • ½ cup natural plain yoghurt or mayonnaise
  • ¼ cup orange juice, fresh
  • ¼ cup light malt vinegar
  • 1 tsp hot English or seeded mustard
  • Ground black pepper to taste


  1. Toss all the salad ingredients in a bowl.
  2. Whisk together all the dressing ingredients and either toss through salad or serve on the side.
