Chicken bone broth

Serves 3 or more 

Ingredients

  • 2 organic chicken carcasses
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 onion
  • 3 stalks of celery
  • 2 carrots
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 2 tbsp whole peppercorns
  • 1 tbsp turmeric
  • 1 cup of fresh herbs
  • 1 tsp kelp flakes

Method

  1. Roughly chop the vegetables, leaving the peel on.
  2. Add all the ingredients to a slow cooker and cover with water.
  3. Cook on low heat for 24 hours.
  4. Strain the broth to capture the liquid and discard the remaining bones/ vegetables.
  5. Portion up and store in the freezer.
