Workshops & Seminars 2025 with Dr Sandra McRae Cabot
Dr Cabot is an integrative doctor and has written over 30 books on health. As a medical student in university, she became aware that medicine was focused on treating the symptoms of disease and neglected to look deeper into the cause of disease. Today in 2025 we have an epidemic of chronic diseases, and we have been taught to manage disease mainly with pharmaceutical drugs.
Integrative medicine is critically important because it addresses the whole person in dimensions of mind, body and spirit and aims to balance the body’s energy.
The cause of most diseases is unhealthy cells which do not have the energy required to perform their functions. Cells that do not produce energy cannot make critical substances such as enzymes, antioxidants, proteins and hormones and this is the cause of most diseases. Genetic factors are important but are not the cause of most chronic diseases.
Integrative medicine can improve health as it uses detoxification, foods, herbs, vitamins, minerals and hormones to promote energy production in the cells.
Integrative medicine recognises that all the body’s organs are connected and affect each other. The body cannot be healthy without balancing all the organs.
For example –
- an unhealthy gut can cause liver disease
- a fatty liver can cause thyroid problems
- thyroid problems can affect the ovaries
- a disordered gut microbiome affects the brain
