Doing a detox is a great way to begin the New Year. It doesn't have to be hard and you don't have to feel deprived. There are plenty of delicious, healthy foods you can indulge in to your heart’s content.

2 WEEK DETOX FOODS

•    Vegetables – both raw (salads) and cooked
•    Fruit
•    Healthy sources of animal protein such as fish, poultry and eggs (free range or organic is preferable)
•    Healthy sources of plant protein such as beans, peas and lentils.
•    Healthy grains such as brown rice, corn, quinoa and amaranth.
•    Healthy fats such as raw nuts and seeds, extra virgin olive oil and avocados.
•    Raw vegetable juices.  One glass of raw vegetable juice should be consumed each day.

FOODS TO AVOID

•    Alcohol
•    Sugar
•    Red meat
•    Wheat
•    Cow’s milk
•    Margarine
•    All vegetable oil except extra virgin olive oil, cold pressed flaxseed, macadamia or coconut oil.
•    Any food containing artificial colours, flavours, preservatives or artificial sweeteners.

Sample menu


Breakfast - 1 bowl gluten free muesli with rice, soy or almond milk
Lunch - Green salad served with canned tuna or salmon
Dinner - Chickpea and vegetable curry
